The Bellevue Public Library now has 6 passes available for checkout to cardholde rs for the Heartland B-cycle bike sharing program, providing FREE unlimited 1-hour trips.
Heartland B-cycle is the first large-scale municipal bike sharing system in the Omaha metro area and recently opened a station on the West Papio Trail at the Twin Creek Trailhead, 36th and Raynor Parkway in Bellevue. Other Heartland B-cycle stations can be located by going to the heartland.bcycle.com website.
BPL cardholders may check out a B-cycle pass for up to five days, but the borrower cannot keep the bike for the full five days. Maximum rental time set by Heartland B-cycle is 24 hours. The bike must be returned to the bike station within 24 hours of the time that the bike is released from the station. Hourly check-ins at biking stations are recommended.
Patrons may check the availability of the passes in the online catalog by entering "B-cycle" into the search. They can also call the Bellevue library to check availability.
Cardholders must be ages 18+ and may only check out one pass per library card.
Each pass will allow one person to check out one bicycle. Passes will be checked out on a first-come, first-serve basis, and cannot be held or renewed.
