Nebraska author, Jonis Agee will be the guest speaker at the Friends of the Bellevue Public Library annual meeting on October 10, 2022, 6:30 p.m., in the large meeting room of the library. Registration is only required if you wish to receive the Zoom link for the meeting. In person attendance does not require registration.

A Nebraska native (born in Omaha), Jonis Agee was educated at The University of Iowa (BA) and The State University of New York at Binghamton (MA, PhD).  She is the author of ten books along with various stories and essays. She's been awarded a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, two Loft-McKnight Fellowships for fiction, two Minnesota State Arts Board grants in fiction, and the Nebraska Book Award. Three of her books--Strange Angels, Bend This Heart, and Sweet Eyes--were named Notable Books of the Year by The New York Times. She teaches creative writing at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln and is director of the Nebraska Summer Writers' Conference.
