Pawsitive Reading will be
offered Saturday, April 12, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the library.
Visiting us this month will be Kramer, Guy and Suki. Parents
who are looking for an
enjoyable,
therapeutic experience for their children who are experiencing
reading or communication difficulties are encouraged to call
the library (293-3157) to register for this program. |
"Native American
Tales" Puppet Show
In observance
of National Puppetry
Day, the library will be welcoming back the Urban Prairie
Puppet Company for a puppet show on Saturday,
April 19, at 1 p.m.
They will
present "Native American Tales," including "How Possum Got Her
Tail" and "Tortoise Races Beaver."
This show is
free of charge and open to all ages. |

Baby & Me Storytimes are
held on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. These one-on-one experiences
are designed especially for infants ages birth to 24 months
and their parents/caregivers. Age-appropriate activities help
to stimulate baby's brain development and encourage early
literacy skills. Baby & Me Storytimes typically last 20 to 30
minutes. |

Toddler Storytimes are held
on Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. and feature stories, songs, puppets,
fingerplays and activities for children ages 2-3 years and
their parents/caregivers. Sessions usually last 30 minutes.
Pre-registration is not required. |

Preschool Storytimes
are offered on Wednesday and
Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. These storytimes are designed
especially for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents/caregivers.
Come on either day and enjoy age-appropriate stories, songs,
fingerplays, puppets and activities with your child. Sessions
usually last 30-40 minutes. No registration is required.
Siblings are also welcome. |

Summer Reading Program, "Catch the Reading Bug." |
Pajama
Storytime this month will be held on Monday, April
21, at 7
p.m. We will meet in the children's area for stories geared
toward preschoolers and early elementary-age children. Wear
your pajamas, bring a blanket or stuffed animal and join us
for some great bedtime stories. |

During National Volunteer Week,
April 27-May 3, the Bellevue Public Library staff will be
acknowledging the contributions of the many adults and teens who
volunteer their time and talents at the library. Our thanks to all
our wonderful volunteers. |

Special Displays
this month will include titles to
help you enjoy National Poetry Month, National TV Turnoff Week
(April 23-29) and El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros (April
30). |
