"Native American Tales" Puppet Show

In observance of National Puppetry Day, the library will be welcoming back the Urban Prairie Puppet Company for a puppet show on Saturday,
April 19, at 1 p.m.

They will present "Native American Tales," including "How Possum Got Her Tail" and "Tortoise Races Beaver."

This show is free of charge and open to all ages.

Baby & Me Storytimes are held on Wednesdays at 9:15 a.m. These one-on-one experiences are designed especially for infants ages birth to 24 months and their parents/caregivers. Age-appropriate activities help to stimulate baby's brain development and encourage early literacy skills. Baby & Me Storytimes typically last 20 to 30 minutes.
Toddler Storytimes are held on Thursdays at 9:15 a.m. and feature stories, songs, puppets, fingerplays and activities for children ages 2-3 years and their parents/caregivers. Sessions usually last 30 minutes. Pre-registration is not required.
Preschool Storytimes are offered on Wednesday and Thursday mornings at 10 a.m. These storytimes are designed especially for 3- to 5-year-olds and their parents/caregivers. Come on either day and enjoy age-appropriate stories, songs, fingerplays, puppets and activities with your child. Sessions usually last 30-40 minutes. No registration is required. Siblings are also welcome.
NOTE: No storytimes will be held in May. Be watching for information on our exciting 2008 Summer Reading Program, "Catch the Reading Bug."
Pajama Storytime this month will be held on Monday, April 21, at 7 p.m. We will meet in the children's area for stories geared toward preschoolers and early elementary-age children. Wear your pajamas, bring a blanket or stuffed animal and join us for some great bedtime stories.
During National Volunteer Week, April 27-May 3, the Bellevue Public Library staff will be acknowledging the contributions of the many adults and teens who volunteer their time and talents at the library. Our thanks to all our wonderful volunteers.

Special Displays this month will include titles to help you enjoy National Poetry Month, National TV Turnoff Week (April 23-29) and El dia de los ninos/El dia de los libros (April 30).
